Sabah, criss-crossed by many minor roads and tracks, all far removed from the hustle and bustle of main traffic routes, has long been recognised by TYK Adventure Tours as a paradise for bike riders. Recognising that Sabah's history also encompasses the infamous Sandakan-Ranau Death Marches, Tham Yau Kong and his team, renowned internationally for their varied and innovative cycling tours, as well as locating and developing the long-lost original POW route, have devised an exclusive and unique adventure, designed especially for cyclists wishing to experience something a little different.

This four day/three night package now offers travellers the opportunity to combine all the benefits of cycling in the fresh air through Sabah's rural countryside, while following a 100 km section of the Sandakan Track with TYK Adventure Tour's expert team.

ITINERARY

Day 01 (L/D)	:	Early morning transfer from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu to Kota Kinabalu Domestic Airport for 7.00am flight to Sandakan. Spend the day touring Sandakan city and visiting Sandakan War Memorial Park and visiting Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary, before transferring to Sepilok Jungle Resort, for dinner and over-night accommodation, and where the mountain bikes will be checked and fitted. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
Day 02 (B/L/D)	:	After breakfast, transfer by vehicle to Mile 32 to begin cycling along the Sandakan Track, passing through kampongs at Ulu Dusun, Manjang, Maunad and Mandoring. Lunch is en route. At Sapi, transfer by vehicle to Rest House at Telupid for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03 (B/L/D)	:	Following breakfast, transfer to Sapi for a day’s cycling to the hamlets of Sabapayau. Toniting, Buis. Lininkung and Bauto. Lunch is en route. On arrival at Bauto, transfer by vehicle to the Rest House for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04 (B/L)	:	After breakfast, the trip continues by vehicle, with an interesting and very scenic drive across the mountains to Kundasang, visiting Taviu Hill, Kampong Panginatan, Quailey’s Hill, Ranau War Memorial (where the death marches ended) and finally to the magnificent Kundasang War Memorial, situated on the slopes of Mt Kinabalu, before returning to Kota Kinabalu.
